Stringfellow Farm once again separates brides from their money

Stringfellow Farm in Round Hill or Middleburg Virginia has declared bankruptcy and once again left brides without their retainers, or a venue for their special day.
In fact some brides also hired Mick Mallon as their photographer “An Artful Eye” and have lost that money.

Actually, Michael "Mick" Ross Mallon operates under a company named "Halcyon Photographic" as well. This company was never registered to do business in the state of Virginia, but he has accepted payments made out to Halcyon nonetheless. This makes it especially difficult to get your money back after Mr. Mallon rips you off.
I ought to know, my wife and I are two of the victims that never received the photos from our wedding in June of 2005. We sued Mr. Mallon and were awarded a judgment about 10 months ago. Mr. Mallon has not found it necessary to pay back a cent of the money he took from us, and we have little reason to believe there are any photos at all.

Just to follow up, in a subsequent debtor's interrogatory, Mick claimed (under oath) that he was not professionally affiliated with the Inn and that he and the owner at the time were "just friends."
Surprise!
You can imagine how hard it is to get your money back from this type of business.

This message is for the two people that posted the comments. Can you please let me know if you ever got your pictures. We are in the same pathetic situation and are trying to get our wedding pictures from Mick Mallon. We need someone to lead us to the right direction or give us some advice on how to do this. THANK YOU

To answer your question, afraid not. Never got our pictures and never collected the judgment from Mick Mallon. He and Jane Nelson evidently have left that property since the Inn at Stringfellow Farm went bankrupt, but I can't say for sure because they don't return my emails or answer the old phone number.
I would recommend that you go after them, but don't expect much from a civil suit. That's what we did. I wish we had pursued them on criminal charges of fraud, because you're not the only person I've heard from since this mess began. It's a pattern of deception, a complete scam.

Dear JNESMITH, Just want you to know that we got our wedding pictures. When I first read some of these blogs, I got worried that we will not have our pictures. But we do and they are beautiful. I am positive that he has your pictures and is going to get them to you. I mentioned these comments to him and he said that he was working on the pending photos and will get them out. Hope you get them soon. Take care.

Thanks ML,
However, Mick Mallon does not seem to think he needs to assure us of anything. So while you are positive he has our photos, he is fast approaching his one and a half year anniversary as a "deadbeat debtor."
I am happy for anyone who has been able to come to an adequate solution with these people. However in our case, he has been nothing but rude, conniving and downright unprofessional. A more fitting word might be simply: non-professional.

I also noticed that the Inn has reopened their website, and continues to list Mick Mallon as an Innkeeper. In the same way they link to things like the "Loudoun County Tourism Council" and claim to be a member--they're not. In fact, that association changed its name years ago. This is the same pattern of deliberate deception that would have one believe that Mick Mallon was an owner (or at least employed by the Inn) when he wasn't.

Just thought I'd add one more piece to this - we were scammed by Mallon and Stringfellow, as well (April 2006). Two years, and no photos. One of the most aggravating things is that this has been going on for years and I didn't research enough about this clown before we signed on the line.
As of early February 2008, it appears that they have opened up again. With any luck at all, they'll be headed straight back into bankruptcy.
