Awards at The Edge Photography Studio

Awards at The Edge Photography Studio

The Edge Photographers Don Harper and David Kay reported recent awards in several photo competitions both local and international.

The Waterford Foundation Art & Photography Exhibition based in Waterford Virginia was held this weekend October 3rd, 4th and 5th. Edge Photographer David Kay submitted two entries including “Honor” which took first place in the Photojournalistic category and his artistic rendition of “Southern Swamp” third place in the “Nature” category. “Honor” is representative of the body of work these two photographers have been creating at Arlington National Cemetery during memorial services they’ve been photographing for many families. More of their work from ANC may be viewed at the website The Arlington Photographer. There are also open Internet galleries at The Edge Galleries related to the Old Guard (3rd U.S. Infantry) and different military service honor guards and bands including the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines.

Don Harper is an international member of the British Professional Photographers Association and the Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers. Five entries in the latest competition won one Gold, one Silver and three Bronze awards. The gold award winning image “It’s Time” was selected for promoting the 2008 Virginia Polo season at Great Meadow in Warrenton. The silver award is a contemporary bridal portrait.

Graphic design services are always provided by Ines Harper, a recognized leader in event design documentation.

Virginia Gold Cup Races at Great Meadow

My associate David Kay was our representative photographer at the Gold Cup Races earlier this month.

Below is the link to a slideshow of a few of his images. Just give it a click to see some stunning images.

Great Meadow is a member of our event networking group "Hunt Country Celebrations" and we want to thank Elaine Burke and her associates for providing us access to their biggest event of the year.

This is the 83rd year for the races and the field included over 100 horses and several other events.
Enjoy!
